Jack's First Word

Well, like Lily, Jack's first word was "Mama!!!" He was seven months old just like Lily and said it when both Brad and I were sitting together! I thought I had heard him say it over the monitor last week, but didn't pay any attention to it. Last night, Brad sat down to feed him his evening bottle and Jack sat up and looked at me and said, "MaMa!" so needless to say, I feed him the last bottle and he drank all of it! I can't believe my little baby is getting so big!

Busch Gardens

This past weekend, me, Brad, Lily, and my dad's family went to Busch Gardens. We had such a great trip! We dropped Duke and Jordi off at my mom's and Lily threw a fit because they didn't get to go with us to, as she calls it, "bushy gardens." Then we dropped Baby Jack off with Brad's mom and headed on the way. And no, Lily didn't have nearly the reaction dropping Jack off that she did with the dogs! We drove up Thursday night and Lily thought it was so cool that she got to stay up way past her bedtime! We stayed at Kings Mill Resort and it was so nice!

Friday we got on the bus and were on our way to Busch Gardens! The first thing we had to do was go meet all the Sesame Street characters...and we meet all of them!

Lily rode a little dragon ride first with daddy! She thought it was a little calm for her so she decided she wanted to go ride the Elmo ride which was definitely a little too much for her!

She hung in there though and after it was over she was done with rides for the day! Towards the end of the day Lily wanted some pink ice cream so what Lily wants, Granddaddy gets!!!

We then went back to the resort and Brad, myself, Elizabeth and Lindsay went back for the Howl-o-Scream! We had a good time getting scared and riding the rides at night!
The next day we had just as much fun and Lily rode several rides and loved playing at the "Land of the Dragons"

We had such a good trip that ended with some great shopping at the outlet malls! No trip to Williamsburg is complete without going to the outlets! We got in the car to go home and within 10 minutes Lily was passed out!

Meet J.E. Sandor

This past Friday, I finally got to meet J.E. Sandor, Whitney and John's one month old super cute little boy! They are such great parents and it was different seeing them with a baby, but good different. I'm so proud of the parents they have become and I know they will give J.E. a wonderful life! Friday night John stayed home with J.E. so whitney and I could go out and catch up. We went to this really good Italian place in Durham and I had an amazing Carbonnara dish (had the leftovers last night and still delicious! I do have to say I do not miss the days from waking babies at night....We got to bed early around 11 and soon after I feel asleep j.e. was hungry, luckily I stayed right in bed in went off to sleep!

Saturday our good friend Abbie came from Charlotte to hang out with us! Abbie is 22 weeks pregnant and so cute!
We all went to lunch and it was just like old times! except now we all had children or one on the way! With all the babies we then had to make a run to babies r us...I got Lily and Jack some new sippies...and if you know Lily, you know they had to be Dora! I felt bad, b/c the night before when I was gone, she had called and was crying for me to come home...so why not buy her love back...(jk) I knew she would flip over the dora cups and of course she did! Jack sucked on his for a minute then decided he wasn't intersted....in time... It was so nice to have some time to myself but I did miss Lily, Jack and even Brad so much....I couldn't get home fast enough and received such an awesome greeting from Lily....She still amazes me everyday with how she can talk and comprehend everything!!

Just Jack

-
Jack is now 6 months old... I cannot believe how time flies! He is such a content baby and loves to smile! He eats like a champ and has finally decided to like solid foods. We still have some issues sleeping through the night...He goes down about 8 and will sleep til about 6 then eat and go back down...but watch out at 6 if you don't get him a bottle ASAP he will scream loud enough to wake the neighbors! I honestly don't mind the 6 am feeding, it seems like the only time we get with just the two of us. It's still dark outside and I love holding him and rocking him while he eats, I know I won't be able to do it much longer!

Jack loves his Jumperoo....He will jump as long as you let him and you can hear him throughout the house. I think we may need to reinforce the floor! hahaha! He also loves some Lily!! If she is in the room he is constantly watching her...she will make him laugh like no one else! I can already see the bond they have together and I love it!

Jack is trying hard to sit-up we aren't quite there yet, but he can do it for a few seconds....he is rolling and grabbing stuff and pulling it towards him. I definitely think he is much better at fine motor skills rather than gross motor skills! He still has no desire to really crawl although sometimes he will get up on all fours and rock but he has yet to go anywhere!

I feel like we are so blessed to have two healthy sweet children!

All About Lily

Lily coloring this morning

Lily is one of the sweetest little girls I know (yes, I may be bias). She also has such a kind heart ! Whenever Jack or anyone, for the matter is crying, she sings, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" She loves to give bear hugs and kisses and gets so excited when someone comes over especially one of her grandparents. Here are just a few things about Lily:

1. I fear she takes after her dad she is already borderline OCD. If anything is out of place she cannot handle it. She needs a napkin in her lap when eating and has to wash her hands a gazillion times a day. She also is so good about when she gets home she takes her shoes off and goes straight to the closet to put them away, in their correct spot, b/c yes even spongebob clogs have a perfect spot in lily's closet.

2. she loves loves loves ice cream and it has to be in a cup. When we were potty training she got dips ice cream if she peed in the potty...well she still occasionally gets it but will flip out if it's not in a pink cup.

3. Speaking of colors, all of Lily's bows are handpicked by her majesty (lily). If you give her a bow, she will take it out of her hair and examine it to make sure it's the right color, if not, she will put it back and find one that matches!

4. A few more Lily loves, are playing outside...she would swing all day if you let her. She loves to color and paint now thanks to preschool. She loves riding horses with papa and swimming in the pool! She also loves to sleep and eat which makes me very happy! She loves dancing to DMB with her daddy, she goes crazy and sadly has inherited my lack of dancing skills!!!

5. Lily is absolutely terrified of BUGS....to be mild about it.... She can't stand them... This morning a fly landed on the table during breakfast, Lily proceeded to high tail it to the back of the house and hide in a tent screaming all the way. and i'm not talking about a freaked out crazy scream, i'm talking about the prissy loud pitched scream with hands flailing and running on her tippy toes!

Jack's 6 month check-up

Our little boy is not so little anymore! Jack had his 6 month check-up today and weighed 18 lbs (50th percentile), 27 1/2 inches long(90th) and his head circumference was in the 50th percentile! He did really well waiting for the dr. but wasn't so happy once he got his shots!!! The dr. gave us the okay to start giving him yogurt so as soon as I can get to the grocery store we are going to give it a shot...it was always lily's favorite!

Can I just tell you how happy I am that fall is here~I love this weather! Apparently so does Lily when we got back from preschool she wanted to "lay in the sun"

and when we had to come in for lunch this is what happened!

one more pic for the grandparents: here is Lily riding Tarzan with Papa this week...she is really enjoying "riding the horseeeees"!!!
